West Block for Globe and Mail

house-of-commons

The West Block on Parliament Hill is about to become one of the most important buildings in Canada. It was under reconstruction for many years as it was prepared to be the seat of power for Canadian federal politics for the next 10-20 years. The House of Commons was moved from Centre to West Block in order for renovations to begin inside Centre Block on Parliament Hill. This is one of the largest historical renovations projects in Canada that practically no one outside of Ottawa knew was happening. This is a very tight edit from the 3.5 year documentary project.
